Nuk Tessli and Cohen Lakes
Nuk Tessli Lake is 3 k”m long and about kilometres wide. A short and well maintained portage, on the west end of the lake, leads to Cohen Lake. Both lakes have great paddling in a beautiful relaxed setting and surprisingly good fishing for such a high altitude lakes. More importantly these lakes provide easy access to many trail heads in the area.
Paddling a canoe in the beginning and the end of the day saves time and effort, and provides a welcome variety of transport.
Turner Lake Canoe Chain
This is the most famous canoe trip in Tweedsmuir Park. It consists of a chain of 7 lakes, connected by short portages. Throughout the trip the Coast Range peaks tower above on both side of the lakes and the view is fantastic. There are numerous options for hiking from the lakes. Canoes can be rented in Turner Lake and there is also a cabin for rent on the shores of Turner Lake, just above the falls.
