The Coastal Mountains Glacier Experience
A special BC glacier and wilderness experience
Ape Lake is located in the heart of the Coastal Mountains and is part of the massive Monarch Ice Field.
Surrounded by massive glaciers, big mountains, beautiful lakes and colorful pools, Ape Lake is one of the most unique places in North America.
On this four day trip you'll get to experience mountains, lakes, glaciers, ice caves, colorful mountain lakes and so much more.
We'll hike and explore the glacier in the day and have dinner around the fire and under the stars at night.
Join us for an experience like no other.

Day 1:
Your adventure at Ape Lake will start with a morning float plane flight from Nimpo Lake to Ape Lake. This is one of the most beautiful flights you'll ever take.
A 25 min flight over the massive Monarch Ice field, pristine lakes, numerous waterfalls, huge mountains and the beautiful Tweedsmuir Park.
After settling in, we'll grab our day hike gear and head to the first glacier. During the hike we'll cross several streams using a small kayak.
The hike will take us over the moraine to a beautiful glacier pool fed by the glacier in front of us.
If we're lucky, we'll get to see some glacial caves.
In the afternoon, we'll head back to camp and have a wonderful dinner under the stars with the mountains and the glaciers as our backdrop

Day 2:
First morning at Ape Lake and what a sight it is. To wake up to a view like this, is truly breathtaking.
Today, our goal is Ape Glacier, the ice caves and the crazy colorful pools and ponds.
Like yesterday, we'll start the hike by crossing a few streams. The hike will take us through what used to be the bottom of the "big" Ape Lake in a terrain that can be described "like walking on the surface of the moon".
The beautiful rock formations along the way to the glacier are very unique and distinctive.
We'll enjoy the massive glacier from up front, exploring the cracks, caves, colors and so much more. After lunch at the glacier, we'll head back to camp in a big loop, exploring mountain pools with amazing variants of colors.
Once again, we'll have dinner around the fire with a view like no other.

Day 3:
Our last full day at Ape Lake will take us to an incredible view point at the summit of a hilltop with the whole valley beneath us and the mountains and glaciers surrounding us.
The hike up will take us along the moraine and a glacial stream between the two glaciers we visited in the last couple of days.
The view from the top is a 360 degree of big mountains, glaciers and a truly untouched wilderness.
This is the ultimate place to fully experience the untouched and wild BC.
As this is our last night in this magical place, make sure you don't miss the sunset over the mountains and glaciers. There is literally no one else around for so many kilometers in all directions.
